The artwork and color scheme for this shirt is based on the outside decor of a strip club on East Burnside in Portland, OR. Words on the shirt are adapted by an antiporn slogan from the Seventies: "Pornography tells lies about women."

Slogan born as a result of several different post-it note versions taped to the Corolla dashboard for review and study. Slogan is also notable for signaling the end of a friendship with an old roommate, who disagreed with it.

This slogan came to life in a Portland, Oregon bedroom in 1996. Thought process behind the slogan is lost to history, but probably had something to do with previously living in New York City. Early versions were created on Jim's computer and scotch-taped to the walls for review.

Slogan was originally found in roommate's book of women's quotations. Permission to use the quote obtained through arduous petitioning of publishers and eventually, Laurel Ulrich herself. Shirt has spawned hundreds of copies, but Laurel likes this one best.
